Women’s History Month

To help celebrate Women’s History Month 2023, the Yale Babylonian Collection’s Instagram page ran a month-long coverage of Enheduana, her works, and her legacy, including featured objects from the collection and video interviews with Erhan Tamur, Benjamin Foster, Gina Konstantopoulos, and Sophus Helle.

The Morgan Library exhibition attracted much exciting news coverage, including on the front page of the BBC website as well as in the New York Times, the New Yorker, Hyperallergic, Artnews, and more. At around the same time, Enheduana appeared on Kate Mosse’s list of forgotten women for The Guardian.

September 10–11, 2022: Performance at Thorvaldsens Museum (Denmark)

Three artists—Danica Curcic, Samina Bazai, and Stine Grøn—are staging an experimental musical performance of the Exaltation of Inana, based on the Danish translation by Sophus Helle, at the Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. The performance, which is organized in connection with the Golden Days festival, will take place on September 10–11, 2022.
